Amanda G. Hughes

Artist Statement
I describe painting as the thing “I can’t keep from doing.” Growing up I was frequently scolded for sketching cartoons on the prayer requests envelopes during church services. Over the years my passion developed into a means of visual self-expression. Whatever I was not able to put into words… I put into art. The neon colors, dramatic swirls, enthusiastic patterns, and the characters accentuated features personify my nature exactly. I am a loud, theatrical, bubbly, goofball!
